Youth Program Performance Opportunities

Western Ballet is a performing arts institution,  students are encouraged to participate in all the shows. In addition to classical ballet, the students are required to learn and perform contemporary pieces as part of their education. We bring guest choreographers to work and train the students in this important area of dance. By the time Western Ballet students graduate at age 18, they will have performed most of the classical ballet repertoire.

Pre Ballet II - Ballet IVa

Youth Program students starting at Pre Ballet II (age 5 – 6) are eligible to participate in our yearly performances. Students are not required to participate in the performances but highly encouraged. The younger levels may participate in the following performances, The Nutcracker and Festival of the Animals.

The Nutcracker is a holiday tradition where each level is assigned to a specific character.  All rehearsals take place outside of class on Saturday afternoons.

Ballet IVb - VII

Students in the upper division will become a part of the Youth Theater Company. Students are required to perform in the annual Nutcracker performance, Spring Full-length Ballet, and Graduation Gala. They may also have the opportunity to perform in the Autumn Gala and Spring Fundraiser. By graduation, students from Western Ballet will have built a repertoire that includes both classical and contemporary pieces.
